In Memoriam

Clyde Edward Campbell, 78, of Bowen (Illinois), passed away at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at his home with his family near him.

Clyde was born February 27, 1928 in Oswego, Kansas the son of Clyde and Daisy (Landrith) Campbell. On November 3, 1945 he was united in marriage to his best friend, Ruby Nadean Smith in Columbus, Kansas. Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Bowen American Legion. He was also a member of the Bowen United Methodist Church and is a retired volunteer fireman for the Bowen fire department. Clyde drove a petroleum truck for the Hancock Service Company for over 30 years, retiring on March 1, 1988. Clyde enjoyed woodworking and working in the flower garden. He especially enjoyed having his kids and grandkids close.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Bowen; 5 children, Steve (Donna) Campbell of Bowen; Patrick (Lisa Miller) Campbell of Bowen; Patricia Lynn (Kent) Bacon of Smyrna, Delaware; Yvonne (Daniel) Mielke of Selma, Alabama; and David (Kim) Campbell of Bowen; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett (June) Campbeel of Hoyt, Kansas and Jimmy Lee (Barbara) Campbell of Parsons, Kansas; and one sister Letha Mae Kilgore of Windsor, Missouri.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a grandson, Patrick Mielke.
